Little White Lies Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Little White Lies

The opportunity to display,
Having minds to use...
As if conscious adults.
Has lapsed in time.
With this done to do.

And importantly,
An example to set.
For children.
Children raised,
Knowing what respect is.
And later to expect,
Them to grow...
Into responsible adults.

However...
This not to know or be shown,
What it takes to be one.
Does not leave,
Expectations high to keep...
Them left to celebrate.

Little white lies told to tell,
Eventually become...
A living hell for everyone!
