Memories Long Gone Poem by Kate Lechoe

Memories Long Gone

The memories no longer linger in my mind for long,
They are long gone than I anticipated before,
It’s like the new appearance of a desert after a wind storm,
The dunes shift to a new position and size,
That is how you shifted in my mind.

I keep on wondering what resulted to this.
Is it the long distance between us?
The reduction in the number of times we communicate,
Or did someone take your place in my heart?
I don’t feel your absence anymore,
Everything is shifting.

I am writing this trying to get an answer,
But even as I finish typing, I haven’t got any.
Will those memories flow back to me someday?

That's right Liza. Some memories are best lost.
