More We Seek Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

More We Seek

More we seek release,
From an imprisonment...
Of embarrassing greed.
Already enriched,
By unhealthy diets.
Both mental and physically.
To then wish cures,
Immediately.
In the hopes to discover,
A remedy.
Only to repeat,
Habitually.
Familiar activities to claim,
Changes needed.
Yet fear the necessity,
Of them to make.
Awaiting a new year,
To commit them to break...
The same resolutions to celebrate.
Faithfully.
Devoted to a going through the motion.
Emotionally.
Again to end when Spring begins.
