A truth maliciously distorted
Becomes nothing but a lie,
Like a nightmare disguised
As a sweet dream!
Back to the future?
No way Jose!
It is up to you only
To make the right choice
Between sugar highs
(One per cent)
And poverty lows
(ninety nine per cent)
In this anxiously expected day
When we will sound only
As one loud and clear voice!
Now, they may question my thoughts
When I freely speak my mind
Forgetting that it is my right
Since I was born!
Backward we shall never go
But forward instead
Toward the rising Sun!

Love this poem in its sincerity it reveals Romeo himself and his thoughts of..Backward we shall never go but forward instead toward the rising Sun! the only way to travel for sure... New York is lucky to have you...regards
Yes, The truth is always the truth! Your recently posted poems are almost composed in a prophetic symbolic/realistic mode...every poem is carrying some proverbial/universal weight...honestly, sugar-high, and poverty-low are the new terms for me...at least i never used them...now i will...thank you...

A truly unique write, which i could totally appreciate sitting in a room talking over the concept and meaning of this write with likeminded people who love to consider things thoroughly.....there is so much entwined depth in this piece....i believe the first stanza considers past lessons learnt... The middle (stands out alone to my untrained mind) It seems to cover all humanity and the sense that we are all loosing our individuality and are just lead by greed and expectance....the last stanza is my favourite as it feels like you saying it is my future and i shall defend my rights to say as i feel... and the rising sun is an air of confident possibility... im probably totally wrong and i do realise the thought that a write need not be explained i just like trying to work out in my own mind what writes mean...tyvm karen
