My Psalm Poem by Valsa George

My Psalm

Rating: 5.0

Through anguished thoughts as I move
In whirling currents, when I am churned
Along Life's weary highway as I pass
When dark clouds threaten to rain down fire

Oh Lord of my life
Abandon me not

When dear ones betray n' desert me
When monsters charge feral at me
When my path is strewn with thorns
When life seems a horrid ordeal

Oh Lord of my life
Abandon me not

When pain hits me like a meteor
When my scars are rubbed hard to bleed
When my eyes are blurred with tears
When I walk into the gates of homelessness

Oh Lord of my life
Abandon me not

My heart is now hollow and empty
Punctured by cutting thorns
Pay heed to my supplications
Listen to the soundless howl
Of my inner agony

Oh my Lord on high
I long to hear your voice
Beyond the clamour of worldly echoes
I am so full of desire to bloom
Bid me rise, set my heart free

Extend your hand
That I will hold it like a child
And walk close to your heels
That my heart will sigh no more
But shall dwell in joy evermore!

Her is glorious Valsa George. I am sure God listens to her prayers, I see added grace in her latest photograph. I see and I feel I should say Amen, to this impressive prayer for her and for me as well!

How like a psalm indeed, Valsa. And I relate to your refrain in times that we’re brought low. In scripture people of faith are referred to as Israel—from the Hebrew meaning those who wrestle with God. We don’t expect easy street (as the expression goes) , but in life’s struggles, in the rough commerce of life, we call on the One we know who is, call for mercy and relief as you do here. -Glen

A beautiful prayer that is the voice of every sensitive heart. From the vocabulary to the structure, everything is just right. A soulful prayer from the bottom of heart...and the reader cries with you, Abandon me not.

Oh my Lord on high/I long to hear your voice/Beyond the clamour of worldly echoes/I am so full of desire to bloom/Bid me rise, set my heart free..........So earnest, so sublime! You have put your heart and soul to draft this Psalm which is in a different plain (personal but can be generalized) as compared to Longfellow’s ‘Psalm of Life’. An adorable piece of work! (10)
