Never Returning Love Poem by RoseAnn V. Shawiak

Never Returning Love

Heartstrings feeling lonely rhythms that are no longer play-
ing within it, today finding there's nothing left of our love,
but the emptiness of what we used to have.

Now walking down empty trails of another time, looking back
and down measure of life, seeing many moments that have been
rearranged through the years without you, my dear.

Isolating, hiding in solitary corners, no longer reaching for
a love that has faded, disappeared from my arms and grasp,
music blaring, sharing the sacredness of sorrow and loneliness.

Since you're gone, wandering, lost, mind blank, heart reach-
ing out, finding nothing in return, a long lost love never
returning again to this empty heart.
