Now That You'Re Gone Poem by Majdoleen (Maggie) Sukayri

Now That You'Re Gone

Now that you're gone
I spend long and lonely nights
Thinking of you
Dreaming of what could have been
Wanting answers, asking for reasons
I thought the future was ours
I had plans for us
We had dreams

Now that you're gone, I'm lost again
Time now is endless
A whirlpool of pictures circling me…
Stories of us haunt me
I try to tear myself away
But currents pull me back in
Like an angry sea, wanting it's share
High waves of our past wash onto my shore…

Now that you're gone,
I'll never be home again…
Cursed to wonder the wet and dry.
I search for you…
I search for answers…
I search for what they call home.
I only find endless roads
I'm on my way to nowhere.

Now that you're gone
Deserts are hotter
Winds are louder
Seas are angrier
Skies are greyer
Nights are darker
Days are shorter
Now that you're gone…
