"Perfect" Poem by Samantha McKinnon

"Perfect"

My 'perfect' life is full
Of misconceptions
And second guesses.
I built myself
Atop a strong foundation
Of betrayal of trust
And broken promises.
The life you deem 'perfect'
Has been falsely beautified
Much like a palace
Hosting a carefully planned Masquerade ball.
I am the hostess
Watching your beautiful deceit.
