Throughout life I have walked many pathways, followed
trails into the unknown.
So many seasons have passed, I've seen, observed, wondered,
experienced and undergone beauty, ecstasy, grief, agony,
and struggles of life in many ways on this solo journey,
all of my poems are a testimony to these experiences so far.
Living with poetry, dreaming it, sinking into each poem,
at times being deprived of food and sleep just to keep close
to the words I continually write, instead of partaking of the necessities of this life.
Every poem is a particle of my being, my energy, my existence,
all that I crave and desire is fulfilled within each one.
Living, breathing, existing with poetry and one day poetry
will die with me.
This is your ARS POETICA - it's a fervent statement of commitment to poetry and WHY it is so necessary to write poems. Whatever effort is not required strikes outsiders as ridiculous, waste of time, what's the use? You know those reactions. Well, an ARS POETICA is a poet's answer to those nay-sayers and doubters, and just to make it crystal clear to them why we poets value poetry, we put our ARS POETICA in verse rather than prose. (BTW the first poet to use that term was Horace - that's why it's in Latin - I studied Latin in high school and translated Horace, that's how I learned about it,) Did I say your poem is eloquent? ! That eloquence is part of the ARS POETICA tradition.
Thank you, Daniel! You always help to see the positive in my writing, I sincerely appreciate your comments!

A very truthful statement is made here with all honesty. The poet expressed here the kind of intense connection and involvement she has with poem all the time and in any situation. And that itself made her so versatile in writing so many poems and in such an ease with eloquence. We all poetry lovers should take a teaching from this very valuable statement..... A true ARS - Poetica.
Actually, Amitava you are one of the very few that has seen me writing in person. No one would believe how I do it unless seeing it done. I appreciate your comments very much, so glad we are poetical friends.
Thank you, Amitava! Coming from such a great poet as yourself it is quite a compliment!
