Popping Off Poem by Matthew Petranovich

Popping Off

I feel it,
emotions
creeping
over me.
The calm waters
slowly start to
boil into a
chamber that
fills quickly.
It explodes,
fire engulfs
everything
the death of
people. The
screams
almost
unbearable.
The steam
is gone,
and the calm
waters settle.
Some people
are hurt,
some just
don't care
anymore.
