Sarrika Singh, The Rhapsodist Poem by Rajendran Muthiah

Sarrika Singh, The Rhapsodist

The warbler, cuckoo, nightingale,
lark, thrush and swallow
- all these choristers repeat the note
they inherited and with discordance
as the season for singing ends.

A humble looking and thanking
with a bowing head, when aeons paid,
keeps her on a differentpedestal.
She inspires the organists
and they raise and lower their fingers.

She alerts the co-singers when she ends
and their turn comes. The emotions,
Smile, surprise and sorrow
and all the primary emotions she makes.
The emotions rise and fall to mesmerize all.

Pride has no place or flat in her face.
Amoral feelings aren't awaken
When she sings and acts. May this soul
Makes the world hale and happy.
All these hymns enthrall our heart.

Knowing Hindi is no need to enjoy music.
All of uscan appreciate
If we have a musical soul.
She learns the lines of the poet's heart
Understands ķthe thought and rain in profuse.
