Shake And Shimmy! Poem by Eric Cockrell

Shake And Shimmy!

Rating: 5.0

shake and shimmy,
rattle and roll.
cant nobody
steal my soul.
you cant sell
what you dont own.
you cant make
right out of wrong.
you cant take
what's already given.
aint nothing more
than the living!
shake and shimmy,
sing and dance.
i gave it all,
i took the chance.
plant dead flowers
on my grave...
love done come
and freed the slave!

Hi Eric, when I read the title I hurried to grab a seat for some belly dancing... hrrmmph (clearing throat) ... But instead enjoyed some grand thoughts you share here as usual..... and I love the last four lines.... Great to see you are still passionately giving of your art..........

you cant sell what you dont own. you cant make right out of wrong. Well written lines! Eric, but please do not walk around singing the other lines! think about life and think about fresh flowers! !
