A Badge
he wears her like
the badge of honorable
abuse....
silently listening
to her rantings,
picking her up
when she falls.
layers of anger
misdirected to him....
yet he takes the blame
without complaining,
and keeps on.....
till too long ignored,
too long in the silence...
he walks out the door,
without a word.
love's not a badge,
not even a cross...
it's a highway
that must be walked
together!

Love is a highway

Thank God i meet you
I've been in relationships like this...you've described it wonderfully.
misdirected to him....makes the poem...............very good.
You are the voice of those who are hardly heard.Thank you.Your poem is deeply moving.
Brilliantly written poem. I like the phrase 'honorable abuse' - those two words add so much to the poem.
i like this and have rated it a 10
