Shiver... Poem by Nestor David Armas

Shiver...

By the light of day;

I read her words slowly,

Whispering every word out loud;

Recalling memories one by one,

Of days that were my joy;

A shiver runs down my spine,

I close my eyes suppressing the tears;

I wish to be held again,

To feel her caress once more;

All the while looking into her eyes,

A hue of blue like the skies after the rain;

Her golden locks glistening,

She was my sun; my stars; my everything;

But my world is no more,

As I let go the flood of emotions;

They sweep me away,

Fatigue pulling me into my dreams;

And in the throes of sleep I weep,

My friend; my confidant; my love;

Has left my side forevermore...
