Body vehicle of mind
Mind vehicle for perceptive stimulation
Perceptions springing from Nature
Nature a play of Sentient and Insentient
Beyond the confluence of
Matter and consciousness
Light and darkness
Known and unknown
Road blocked.....
There lies an mysterious point for
Science and knowledge to wonder
Logic stops at its sphere
Faith surrenders to its supremacy
Religion and ethics dissolve
Speech becomes mute
None can inquire with reason
It exists and exists not
There vibrates an imperceptibility
In its own golden womb
Radiant with its own effulgence
Force of expansion and contraction
Contrived in its own being
Yet able to shape and manifest
In its eternal cosmic play.
So the Ancients say......
It's a lovely poem with enlightening wisdom and virtues which our ancient wise people had already said thousands of years back what most of us don't follow or realize as on date even though we say that we came a long way forward through modernization! ! But, yes for real peace of mind, we have to follow those sermons. Thanks for sharing.
I love the Ancient Peoples and the wisdom they passed on not even realizing how much we would need it. You know the concept of the AXIAL AGE? I first learned of this historical marker from Michael Wood a BBC producer who has had programs on PBS like IN SEARCH OF THE TROJAN WAR and THE STORY OF INDIA. The Axial Age occured during the 5th/6th millennia BCE when various WISDOM TRADITIONS were conceived and propagated - The Buddha, Confucius and Lao Tzu, the Pre-Socratics, Zoroaster, the Hebrew Prophets, et alia. It's called AXIAL because it marks a turning point in human history because of the turning point of human conciousness - in other words, your poem illustrates this cncept in your own words. Just above the box I'm typing this in, I can see another box in which PH has put titles of suggested reading - the last title is WHERE THE MIND IS WITHOUT FEAR by Rabindranath Tagore. Tagore qualifies as one of those wise voicsw of the Axial Age but alive in our era. Aren't we lucky to have him?
Ancient philosophy is great, a thoughtful poem............10
