Solar Love Poem by Jess Soto

Solar Love

Rating: 5.0

Blazing and slicing through the dehydrated grass
Flows the very enemy we should hold in our hands.
Yet...
No mortal wishes to kiss death
Until they feel the heartbeat reach for desire.
Still...
Our unappreciation for you
Caused you to call for a divorce.
And...
Now we lie drunk in our filth
While you have the last laugh.
But...
The marriage was bound to fail
And we could not give you pleasure.
Sorry...
You were molested more than you had to
And we did not stop for one second...

I like: -) Very effective use of metaphor. Brings out the guilt that we've collectively lost our faith.
