Listen to the voice of the river
It carries tears of the thousands passed
Scattering them to sky and sea and earth
Then quietly speaks to you of dreams and cares
Emptying your soul with almost silent singing
Now hold your breath a moment,
Listen with unencumbered hearing.
Ssshhh.
Can you hear the lilt of other voices too?

It made me hold my breath. Thanks for helping me to hear it. Lovely.
Beautiful. I am sure those are the soothing voices that Beethoven heard in 1807 and 08.
Makes us look and listen deep inside. Reaches out to anyone who reads it. Well done.
Yes, now you've reminded me to stop & listen & feel the tears & sweat of my ancestors singing in the rhythm of the hills & mines. Thank you.

Nicely done Frank. I liked how you personified the river and made it an exporter of forgone hope. Nice title for it. -Michael
