Sweep Up The Gazing Eyes! Poem by Rajendran Muthiah

Sweep Up The Gazing Eyes!

Sweep up the Gazing Eyes!
Show not me your jaunty smiles
and lull not me by thy soothing voice.
You're a brigand in the journeys of men
stealing their oscillating minds with ease.
The sultry smiles, your heavenly gift,
misuse to do your work by cheating them.
You assure smiles for the breakfast one brings.
You offer in plenty when someone does your work
being heedless of one's hunger, rest and sleep.
You pay in bounties to thwart the eyes
of the dull head from doing practical-work.

Your personal assets exceeding the limits
will soon cease sinking you in grief.
See the sudden deaths of Serial and Cine-artists
who fade and fall in no time to Covid's shocks.
Your stature and features amazing may spur
the minds of men who see the flesh alone
in the lush green garden of flowers and rills!
Once they eat the fruits they will be fleet of foot.
