That Day In My Life Poem by Amitava Sur

That Day In My Life

The day I happened to see you
In that startling moment in my life,
I invented the person whom I was searching, so long
I smelt the fragrance of that flower,
I ever beckoned.
The moment I could look at you
You arrowed me with your beauty and love
So instantly and intensely too
That I was wounded, hurt
And surrendered myself then and there to you.

But I was so amazed with your love you did exert,
That I felt the heaven was in my excess.
So cruelly you snatched my sleep
But begetting me the addiction of liking you!
Since then I cannot forget you
Nor can remain without you.
So much so I am fond of you
That I wish to be imprisoned
In your captive for ever.

Loved you and love you now
For ever and ever in my journey of life
And will continue loving you
In the future's unending time path too....

This commitment to love coming from a simple heart feels so genuine. Love the picture.
