The Dream Poem by Kelsi Mancillas

The Dream

That one dream,
that very dream that has never left my mind.
It was the dream I feared of coming true.
Where you were so happy, so peaceful.
The dream where you were with another woman.
That woman, she was perfect.
Just perfect, the gorgeous skin, gorgeous eyes, gorgeous smile, just gorgeous.
And with that woman you had your children.
The children I wanted us to have.
This dream I woke with tears rolling upon my face.
The dream that I wished would never happen.
But was this dream a sign of the true future?
Was it a sign we were not to be?
Now as we are no longer together.
No longer with each other.
No longer in love.
This dream.
That one dream.
Was the dream I wished to of never had.
That dream that which came true...
