The Innocent Poem by Matt Mercer

The Innocent

Skipping along the yellow brick road
Not a care, nor trouble in sight
Every day, is a day spent in heaven
As children we play
And live forever

Our souls remain untouched by darkening ways
Here is where evil has not created
The rainbow never fades beyond the sky so blue
Everything is so beautiful
Everything so new

The fields stretch out, beyond the sun
Children playing, having fun
These tears of sorrow, they don't exist
In this world, we need not cry
There'll be no need
to say goodbye
