The Pathetic State In India Poem by Rajendran Muthiah

The Pathetic State In India

The man in gubernatorial post,
the honourable Chief Minister,
the highly trained Chief Secretary
and the vile contractors who cheat gods,
joined together to wage a war
on the wealth of the people
by enhancing the price of sand
granites and other minerals;
on the health of the people
by adding tax to the selling price
of essential drugs and medicines
and also the food taken in hotels.
To quell the voice of the dissent,
they threw pittance in the form
of freebies and gadgets and bribes
to voters and the officers.

What can the life eroded people do?
They kill or scald themselves
with all their lovely kids.
Let all the corrupt exemplars
be honoured with the highest
awards in the world.
The Telugu music has reared
such robbers to loot Tamil land.
The sweet Tamil has made
superb politicians to prostrate
before the swindlers and share the loot.
