Mandolyn ...

there's heaven on the plains and freedom in the hills...

if mountains were ships
we'd throw an anchor when we reached the middle of nowhere
i'd hang my feet off the side of the earth- with you
pinning down the brat in me
stilling my bouncing heart with words
so simple, yet profound and fast-
they wreck my vision of everafter
and replace my sight with unity...

it's you i see,
keeping a good pace
as you tread easily, dandelion in hand,
wishes floating in the air
coming towards me from every angle-

sunlight covers your face,
and i race to you
tripping on the laces
i never tied quite right-

    f mountains were ships
we'd throw an anchor when we reached the middle of nowhere, ..................

if dream would be sky azure
we would fly like birds to touch stars
being befuddled in the midst of stream
yet light blue may guide to go heavenward......ingenious write by metaphor and imagery (Report) Reply

The second and third stanzas are amazing! ! The first stanza was like taking a deep breath in the open air, but the energy and delight of the poem begins with him in the second and her in the third and the words take flight, real flying together. I've always thought in some nearby realm where magic still holds sway song and flight are the same thing because one fuels the other and then the singers take flight as your two do in this poem.... poet Rupert Brooke

If I should die, think only this of me:
That there's some corner of a foreign field
That is for ever England. There shall be
In that rich earth a richer dust concealed;
