These Eyes Poem by Vonda Overlie

These Eyes

Rating: 5.0

These eyes have shed many tears
Seen many injustices.

If I Iook into them deep,
I can see the footsteps of pain
left by those I love.

Tread carefully,
the ground is barren.

Pools of tears from the well that runs freely.
Wishing I could take away concern
Throw care to the wind.

Take away ammunition that so easily scorns.

These eyes have indeed shed many tears,
yet they also have searched for beauty and found it.
