Threshold Of Love Poem by Fay Slimm

Threshold Of Love

Rating: 5.0

When friendly concern becomes more than need
For occasional contact, - - then beware!
When you find yourself feeding too deeply
On words, and yearning for more, - - then take care!
When days seem unfilled unless voice is heard
Of immeasurable warmth to your ear.... when
Exchanges, however mundane are occurring
Without any excuse, it is plain then
You have crossed a fine barrier, the threshold
Of love has been breached, and has captured you
Wholly. - From now on you will be emboldened.
Your heart is lost in the crossing, - 'tis true,
And from now on no threshold of love remains.
You have entered the Paradise love contains.
