Time Ticking Poem by Manonton Dalan

Time Ticking

i was sitting on flight-deck
watching these merchant ships
cruising chesapeake channel
fully loaded for christmas
maybe your perfume or jacket
is in those colored conex boxes

seagulls didn't welcome them
nor tugboats along their sides
they're giant with purpose; to
deliver those goods for you
i could have been enjoying it
i look down to see heading home

***
time so fast if you enjoy
what are you doing
