Time Travel, It Was Just A Dream (Or Was It) Poem by Dave Alan Walker

Time Travel, It Was Just A Dream (Or Was It)

Rating: 3.8

I dreamed
I went into the future
because something wasn't quiet right

I was in a room with a doctor
there was people walking in circles
going nowhere but round
then a girl stopped and looked me in the eye
my blood ran cold

The doctor said
they do what you do
they travel in time

I said
ah but I'm only dreaming
I'll wake up in the morning
and I'll be fine

The doctor laughed and said
I'll see you around

I woke up the next morning
feeling fine

Until I saw the four inch scar
down my chest

I am a fan of the original Time Machine by Geoege Pal. Thats what makes this poem all the scarier. Good one Dave.

This time travel takes place often in our sleep.... also in the post anesthesia state..... Mysterious is the working of the human brain! You have brought out a beautiful poem on an eerie experience! Enjoyed!

Dave, that is fantastic. When the patient is under anesthesia in a subconscious state and the medical team is walking around, it is time travel of the real kind. Beautifully developed in the poem. Thank you.
