Unbearable Pangs Of Separation Poem by Rajendran Muthiah

Unbearable Pangs Of Separation

Rating: 4.0

1151. Tell me if there is no separation.
Tell on your quick return to those who survive then.
1152. Joyous once his looks were! But now,
The fear of parting engulfs while embracing him.
1153. Between wise lovers too, parting is a fact.
His convincing words of not leaving is a tact.
1154. “Showering love, fear not”, he said, “but left”.
Is it my fault to believe his assuring words?
1155.To guard your life, keep yourlover in grip from going.
Once he went off, hardly you meet him again.
1156.No use of yearning for his return to love me,
when he is pert to preach his separation.
1157.Couldn’t the slipping bangles from my wrist predict
the departure of my lover of the coastal land.
1158. Sad it is to live in a hamlet with no sharing friend.
Sadder will it be for the beloved to part.
1159. Fire burns on touch.
But does it burn like fire of lust on separation?
1160. Some women nod to bear the pangs of separation
and agree to live alone long after!
