Under Sea Under Me. Poem by Brady Scott

Under Sea Under Me.

If you ever get to look at the sea,
You might see boats and ships sailing on me.
On the beach you may find shells or sharks teeth,
But have you ever wondered what goes on underneath?

Far below my surface lies a magical place,
Where fish and squid swim with elegance and grace.
Small crabs and sea urchins live on the sea floor
How I wish you could see them, to come down, to explore.

You'd see seashells glistening amongst the sea sand
There are shipwrecks and sharks in this watery land.
Puffins and sea lions would go gliding by
Just like Aeroplanes do far up in the sky.

The kelp would be dancing in time with the tide
As a whale swims past with her mouth open wide.
She feeds on the krill that are so hard to see
So there's no need to worry about being her tea.

Oh how I wish you could be a fish for a day
A tuna, pilchard, sprat or a ray.
You could swim and frolic right into the night
You would never get tired of my wondrous sights.

Maybe one day you might get the chance
To come down and watch the Shoals of fish dance.
It's another world down here I'm sure you'll agree
It's peaceful and exciting undersea, under me.
