The face in the mirror conflicts with how old I feel.
The male pattern baldness - the bags under my eyes,
The grey hairs in my goatee are no longer a surprise.

They fall in love, the girl is late. Blink.
Married with child now and on with life. Blink.
He works hard, she mother and wife. Blink.

If you ever get to look at the sea,
You might see boats and ships sailing on me.
On the beach you may find shells or sharks teeth,
But have you ever wondered what goes on underneath?

Squirrel in the garden, squirrel up the tree
Squirrel on the fence post looking at me.
With your fluffy grey fur and your bushy bushy tail
how do you climb the tree bark?

It was the day before Christmas
In an old English town.
The streets were white, the air was cold
And all the leaves had fallen down.

I'm out in the playground waiting for school
There's Justin over there acting the fool.
He's swearing and talking about smoking no doubt.
