A lonely heart cries,
The emptiness of Time,
As all hope dies,
Disillusion turns to rhyme,
For Rhyme is of Language,
What most touches the heart,
It can calm the vivid anguish,
That tears your heart apart.
PH erased my comment for this poem and I'm too tired to retype it. Well, I wrote I agreed with RoseAnn's assessment.. She nailed her appreciation. I liked the way the poem flowed as if it was only one word but carrying the impact of a whole composition. But the truth carries its own beauty just as beauty embodies its own truth. That's the notion that your poem is built on and what makes it speak so effortlessly to our ready minds. A poem like this expresses (and rewards) the deep feeling within YOUR HEART.
I agree wholeheartedly with RoseAnn's asesssment of this poem.. When I read it the first time it came into my mind as a whole, as if the poem were just one word complete in that one word, with all its energy coiled inside that singularity. It is certainly one breath - fresh, wholesome, revitalizing.
If that was a question...? hmmm I'd say it's a toss up between Bambi and my rib cage hmmm, I'll think about that one

Totally touched my heart when reading this poem, Sandra! It's so intensely true and applies to my life right now, especially the last three lines! They keep resonating through my heart and mind as the tears flow in time with the sorrow touching me at this time. Precious and gentle thoughts lying like petals of sympathy within my mind. Thank you very much for sharing. RoseAnn
