'When I Saw, 'Jesus' Poem by Linda Winchell

'When I Saw, 'Jesus'

Rating: 5.0

When I saw Jesus nailed to the cross
It took a part of me.
His eyes looked down as if to say
'Don't my child go and cry for me.'

For this was what I was born to do
To come and die on a cross for you.
To be burried and rise up from the dead
So see my child, my death is now your daily bread.

Just when you see this image of me
Kneel and send up your prayers to me.
For I am not ever far from you
This was the promise that I made to you.

You'll find me in the songs of a birds
Or in a flower as it grows.
But know dear child, that I will always love you
And that to my Father I was meant to go.
