Why Do I Do The Things I Do? Poem by Jeff Fleischer

Why Do I Do The Things I Do?

Rating: 5.0

Why do I do the things I do?
Waiting for you in the pouring rain.
Going out of my mind, insane.
Spending on you, my last dime.
When you punish me,
Does the punishment fit the crime?
Waking up to you ever morn,
Often to a look filled with scorn.
Taking you in with every breath
Makes me feel like I'm choking to death.
Why do I do the things I do?
I thought it was because I loved you.
However, now I'm not so sure.
Is leaving you the cure?
Only father time will tell.
Please try to be a bit softer,
When at me, you yell.
