Squirrel In The Garden. Poem by Brady Scott

Squirrel In The Garden.

Squirrel in the garden, squirrel up the tree
Squirrel on the fence post looking at me.
With your fluffy grey fur and your bushy bushy tail
how do you climb the tree bark?
You never fall, you never fail.

You leap from tree to tree like a little acrobat
How I wish that you talk and teach me to do that.
I would climb and climb that big old tree
Right to the very top
I wouldn't care how high it was
because I know I'd never drop.

The sun has gone, the air is cold
and frost covers the ground
so climb back into your cosy drey
and snuggle yourself down.

Just bide your time and wait for spring
To come around again
Then we'll see you in the garden
My fine grey furry friend.
