Looking For Eric The Elf Poem by Brady Scott

Looking For Eric The Elf

Rating: 5.0

It was the day before Christmas
In an old English town.
The streets were white, the air was cold
And all the leaves had fallen down.

When somewhere in an alleyway
I heard a cough and a sneeze.
I heard a voice call out to me
Oh can you help me please?

As I walked closer toward the voice
I still couldn't see a thing.
But then I saw a shiny red nose
And then I heard a Christmas bell ring.

I then saw a pair of antlers
poking out from behind a shed.
I also saw a red and white suit on a man with a hat on his head.

The man said I am Santa Claus
Oh can you hold this rein?
It belongs to my friend Rudolph here
Come help me and I'll explain.

He told me he was looking around
For an elf that had gone astray
And if he couldn't find him
There might not be a Christmas day.

How sad he looked as he told me this
Of course I had to help.
So we both searched high and low
Until we heard a yelp.

Is that you Eric? Where are you?
I've fallen down this hole.
I came to see the children here
All the way from the North Pole.

I wanted to see just where they lived
I wanted to see them play.
I wanted to tell them to be good
And that Santa was on his way.

Santa smiled at Eric the elf
Then patted him on the head.
They climbed aboard the big grand sleigh
After Rudolph had been fed.

He said thank you for your help young man
As they hovered in the sky.
You'll receive your reward on Christmas day
Then he winked and said goodbye.
