In lines we stood.
Cause against cause - woods.
BLUE & GREY were we.
America's hemorrhage - free.
Whitman's dead leaves abound.
Soldier's fallen upon grounds.
A free man President.
Martin King's dream - GOD sent.
Our bone's - history - time.
A light - liberty - onward shines.
CRIES FROM GRAVE'S

President elect, OBAMA - AMERICA -
UNION - CARRY ON ]]]]

A lovely poem Joe! Very eloquent, very well executed - A pleasure to read! ! *10*! Best regards, Friend Thad
Joe - String theorists are saying there is no such thing as time.1865 is now as well as 2008. Nothing happens in isolation of the past and the future. Everything is connected. Obama was meant to be, is meant to be, and will always be. Blessings - Cheryl
Just perhaps already the dawn to a better way is here Love duncan X
Well penned Joe, reminds of thoughts I had when writing my poem I believe it is under 'Multicultural Poems' thanks for sharing Barry
Each man who bore or bears the burden of the presidency Is open to criticism for his actions or inaction. No man is capable of being perfect in everbody's eye. History will judge
A nice dedication to one's country. The presidents of yesteryears grudgingly would say 'hey Obama take the rope and pass it on to the next...mind you pass it good, OK?
that''s a nice interesting piece indeed....'bob the builder can we fix it, bob the builder yes we can'...nice piece indeed thanks, liked it very much

Obama's election does seem to complete a circle. Even so, most of us who voted for him did so because he is so intelligent and exhibits so much statesmanship that he claims our trust.
