A Sad Fact

In the hope
that the world will become
a better place
we carry on

In the hope
that we will be saved
we carry on

It's sad but it's true
we are waiting for nothing
because only we can save ourselves
and only we can make the world
a better place

It's sad
but it's true

Yes, we can make the world better one person at a time, only after we have saved and made ourselves better. Very good poem. Thank you for sharing. RoseAnn (Report) Reply

Written very well. With no self worth, gives no desire to muddle through times of despair, No sense of pride leaves little to hold a candle to, As a disease hopelessness will spread, the weak will fall through, the strong we survive. written by Nicholle Gibson. Isn't just a total lost when you see people out there that really make it seem like we are waiting for nothing? I like it (Report) Reply

So true. Truth garbed in such simple words. It's worth a try though. So uplifting. Let's have more like this..

Motivation reigns in this inspiring verse. We can do a lot to help in our own little spaces and places in this world. I think some feel paralyzed because they can't do a lot, or the big things that they'd like to do, so they feel that it's useless for them to do anything. (Report) Reply

It is indeed sad but true, it is all down to people to make the world a better place. Another good one from your pen Dave. (Report) Reply

when we have high hope, we may be sad, but people take it easy, when something is not that important! I agree with you that we have to save ourselves! Nice to read! (Report) Reply
