A Secret Killer Poem by Bireswar Halder

A Secret Killer

You came to his life in a college,
While he was young and handsome in his teens,
Still I can remember that particular moment
When he first started kissing you in love.

With his terrible energy and power,
Accepted you as one of his life partners
Thinking you to be a great pleasure
Lost his valuable life being a chain-smoker.

Cigarette, you are a secret killer
Come to this world with brown sugar.
Jointly diminishing the light of life
Of millions of energetic youths of the world.

To have a little bit relief and gain
And to forget his distress and mental pain
Like running in a desert as an illusion
Addicted smoker finds nothing except deadly end.

Cigarette, you are nothing but a murderer,
And we must come forward to hand you forever
Before it carries us to the door of cancer
For which human being have no answer.
