Abide Poem by Marquita Lawson

Abide

Through times of joy and times of sorrow,
You've been right by my side
When I've felt there was no tomorrow,
You said, "Child, trust and abide"

I know I'm on a journey home -
Over mountains wide and tall
Through darkened valleys will I roam -
Your love lifts me high above them all.

This path was unexpected.
But I knew You'd see me through
At times I felt rejected.
But never once by You

Through times of joy and times of sorrow
You've been right by my side
When I've felt there was no tomorrow
You said, "Child trust and abide"

You hold me in Your mighty hand
I feel Your ever loving power
The Lord who fit me in His plan
Now holds me in my darkest hour

You'll never go away, You fill me with Your love
You'll never let me stray as guide me from above
My heart fills with joy as I pray

Through times of joy and times of sorrow
You've been right by my side
When I've felt there was no tomorrow
You said, "Child trust and abide"
