Being Surprised Poem by RoseAnn V. Shawiak

Being Surprised

Clouds lining the sky, covering rays of the sun while
we sit in anticipation of another beautiful day.

Watching, seeing clouds instead becoming darker, a
storm suddenly brewing, taking us all by surprise.

Loving the rain, we sit and watch in the face of all
the odds, hoping to see sunlight before evening star-
light taints the sky with an ebony darkness.
