Burning Up Poem by Sandra Feldman

Burning Up

Rating: 5.0

I'm Steaming,
Everything is so CORRUPT!
We're like chickens being plucked,
There is nothing that is straight,
Miss the good old days of Watergate.

She says it like it is... and gives us a good laugh besides! Very, very clever- our little smart and loveable Sandracita!

Things are really bad if Watergate induces nostalgia! But on further thought I agree with you. Watergate forced the corrupted ones out into the open where they wilted under the exposure. And it also brought a whole range of people in and out of politics who became the heroes of the moment. I was traveling in Wisconsin during the hearings and spent several in Madison watching the coverage with students, teachers, et al., feeling one with a crowd of Americans with whom I shared the same values and hopes. Conversation flowed freely, acceptance was warm, there was solidarity. And something was shining in the midst of the darkness. I was proud to be with all of them.

10 out of 10. Sympathize with your anger in these events.
