Grandchildren Poem by Akhtar Jawad

Grandchildren

The first stage is the age of dependence,
Rest is a journey to the independence
Man entirely depends on his parents,
The main attraction is the grandparents,
The second stage is the age of socialization,
Man becomes conscious of civilization,
Experiences of grandparents enlighten a way,
By their yes and by their nay,
The third stage is the age of conjugal life,
Grandparents teach us how to handle a wife,
How to get rid of an uncalled strife,
By keeping in our mouth an injuring knife!
Unnoticed it had come and silently it went,
Grandchildren read it on net and comment,
The foreheads cry for want of a loving kiss,
Abroad are grandchildren deprived of bliss!
Congrats my granddaughter for another child!
He must be handsome and so soft and mild,
You didn't send his photo fearing bad eyes,
All right, I shall look at the moon on the skies.
