I'M An Expert Lemonade-Maker Poem by Susan Sparks

I'M An Expert Lemonade-Maker

Verse One:

I've had a hard old life
Oh yes- it is true
I'm an expert lemonade-maker
Who's gotten low-down, dirty and blue.

Refrain:

When life hands you lemons-
Make lemonade
There's no need to stay sour
It's time to live for Happy Hour
When life hands you lemons-
Make lemonade

Verse Two:

I've visited the hills and the valleys
I've lived the highs and the lows
I've seen the peaks and the craters
And I've sung the roller-coaster blues.

Repeat Refrain:

Verse Three:

Heaven and Hell are here on Earth
There's good and bad in everything
Tough times never last, but tough people do
Cheer up and see what the new day will bring.

Repeat Refrain:

Verse Four:

I'm an expert lemonade-maker
I never admit defeat
I'm an expert lemonade-maker
I can turn bitter into sweet.

Repeat Refrain:

Verse Five:

Take a big bite out of life
And if it makes you pucker
Add a heaping spoonful of sugar...
And invent an all-day lemonade sucker.

Repeat Refrain: {end of song}
