Illusion Poem by Amitava Sur

Illusion

Very strange and unexplorable
is this illusion in our mind.
It is like a glittering pearl
in our darkness inside.

It knits a fine linen
With joy and dreams,
Decorating the cloth
With alluring things.

This sorcerer
Mesmerizes and engulfs us
With it’s intense hypnotic realm.

Then finally it deludes
By deceiving us so miserably
And throwing us in an abyss.

Life catches us unawares, throwing us into a tailspin, nothing seems to be what it is. Is there a reality, or is it the illusion of reality? Just when we think we understand, we find that we don't know anything, and are being thrown into an abyss of darkness unable to find our way. Awesome poem, perfectly stated in your poetical style, a unique and original work of art! Thank you for sharing, RoseAnn

We are often caught in the web of illusion! Like the mirage of the desert, it may seem real! But when we try to hold it, it eludes us! In the end, it throws us into a bottomless abyss! Lovely diction with a lovelier picture! I wonder if one can ever get a better image to show the dazziling and elusive nature of illusion! Thanks Amitava!

Truly, illusion is like a glittering pearl in our darkness inside and deceives us in the end.Lovely phraseology, loved reading the poem.
