===================
O' my helpless illuminating bulb
So cruelly I fixed you in that bracket on the wall! !
You have no means or ways to move from there
But to give us light by burning yourself.
Even if you'd like to take a little rest
I force you to burn, giving light to me.
Ruthlessly I am utilizing you
Like a slave in the medieval age.
Since I cannot dominate others
I am punishing you to fulfill my grudge! !
Keeping you on and on -
By burning all through the day and night.
Since you are deaf and dumb
My cheap egos, even, will not be battered
I have no shame in seeking excuse to you.
With your greatness and benevolent heart
Excuse me, my dear bulb -
You help me so unconditionally paining yourself! !
Even a least I could learn about that sustenance from you! !
I'd consider myself as one great human on this earth ! !

This is a unique topic to dwell upon! We use many tools..... but never gratefully think of the service they render! To be thankful for the enormous benefits we enjoy everyday is a great step towards achieving contentment! If we can burn for others like the bulb, it is next to Godliness! Great write Amitava!
A well written and thought provoking poem. Most of us use tools every day without thinking of the implications. Today a light bulb, tomorrow who knows. Someday's some go too far and truly do harm. We should all think more about what we are really doing, is it really just using a tool we are using, or is the light bulb suffering from our abuse.
Beautiful poem. Very creative as I took the light bulb as a metaphor for all the life sustaining gifts that we have been given upon earth, but we all always bent upon manipulating every thing so cruelly. Enjoyed the humor also.
Great poem, Amitava. Humorously serious, I like it. An unusual but enlightening thought about a light bulb. Thank you, RoseAnn

A great poem, we need some things more than others. Somethings we just can't live without.
