Sol Liva

Rookie (1973 / Baltimore)

just because

lines drawn
spawn of this liberty and safety
rapes me when i leave in the morning
still yawning my life away
so a write
a way to you

it really need a definition

repetition of i know i knew we know we knew
when once we flew over the cuckoo's nest
made from the best stuff on earth
dreams worth reality
times infinity

because of your divinty if you need a reason

rhyme is just a matching set until i wet the pattern with my tears
years in the making
waking early because this girl be

just because....

it really need a cage
a stage
to be written and catalogued on a page
by someone who matters less than the energy of the inner we
when in winter we saw truth and lies dancing without division
and lay silent under inverted rainbows that must have meant
god was either smiling or wilin' out when you(u) and(n) i became the tie(ty) that binds us
because they say laughter is the best medecine
and in this world that seems so sick
of course 'he' may need healing

just because i'm feeling you

just because it's my life that i be reeling through
like sideshow bob my head under the water
quarter for a peep show me the dirty money
sunny days away from tomorrow's sorrow

i steal golden kisses from uncertain lips simply so that i can borrow
a peace of mind is a terrible thing to waste not want knots to keep me rooted

or grounded
just because....

cannot be bounded
or rounded down or up or denominated or numerated or square rooted or triangulated
or weighted in vains
as through veins runs the mantra
that for you
i must
be love

never looking for anymore definition of it's existence
than the madness around the words
just because.....
it really need boundaries

or is it that we are so used to them
slim looks tight so dim the lights so that i can sin with her tonight

just because...

soft serenades of secrets we get confused with life
with loss
with loneliness
with love
intermixed with my just because was a because that was just
know that i love you
just because
i do

poet Ralph Waldo Emerson

Knows he who tills this lonely field
To reap its scanty corn,
What mystic fruit his acres yield
At midnight and at morn?

In the long sunny afternoon,
