Leaving Poem by MNSRAlyssa Bii

Leaving

Rating: 5.0

Today is the day
I am about to stray
Even though I don't want to go
I just have to live with it and go with the flow.

I'm sorry that I have to leave
There is no need to grieve
We both knew that this day was coming
But it still feels like a huge sting.

I never wanted to move away
But my parents told me that I couldn't stay
Even though I might look emotionless
Deep down, I feel like I'm in a crisis.

Today is moving day
The skies were blue and now they're gray
The trees were full of leaves but know they're gone
And the sign is already standing on the front lawn.

I see you standing there, ready to say goodbye
I try to hold back the tear in my eye
You watched as I step into the car
I don't want to live so far.

It's already too late, I'm gone in a blink
I hope my new school doesn't stink
Even though I might be lonely in the new place
I know that someday I will get to see your face.
