A plain and simple ode (owed) for all
us middle class commoners-
Now, many of us wonder
What this life is all about;
And I oft times still ponder,
So, please just hear me out.
It's drag up in the morning
And fall to bed at night;
It's all those struggles in between
That we must daily fight.
It's Johnny's flu and Susie's sty
And hubby's drinking bouts;
It's keeping up with Jonesy
And wifey's weekly pouts.
It's off to church on Sunday,
A time for prayer and thought;
It's paying all those taxes and
On things we should not bought.
Now, friends I'm here to tell you,
This life is really tough;
But, let me dropp a passing thought,
Before you yell enough.
These trials and many others
Must never slow our pace;
For we, my friends were chosen
To run this human race.
How true to life this is, All the struggles in between seems about right, An excellent poem Sir! .
I like this Joseph, a very deep poem. It's amazing how people carry on. People look at me and think what a really fantastic King, I wish I was him, but like I keep telling people they are not me, so get off my land. A great write Joseph. King.
This is serious stuff. And just think of all the “…many others…” that are not mentioned here. Don’t see how some can stand the load. But, somehow, life goes on. The reality of it all. Great job.

Starting this poem celebrating the mundane trials we all hate, except pirates don't pay taxes, then ending this poem with a simple yet deeply profound thought. impressive write!
