Losing Ground In Life Poem by RoseAnn V. Shawiak

Losing Ground In Life

Turning away from an existence that holds little meaning
anymore for people have gotten caught in mazes of alcohol,
drugs or sex.

Such a shame, young and old finding nothing to look forward
to, trying to empty the anguish and heartbreak in their own
beings.

Not reaching out anymore because drugs, alcohol or sex have
taken over their minds, controlling their them, putting them
into a foreign interior mind.

Having lost everything, even themselves, now having an empty
void, a shell, no longer having an exacting thought process
for their minds are drugged.

They often don't even know what they're into, definitely losing
ground in life, a dead-end road that they haven't figured out
how to get around as yet and maybe never will.
