Lugubrious Time In Life Poem by Rajendran Muthiah

Lugubrious Time In Life

Rating: 5.0

The workers of the sex-lough
Or the glittering world of celluloid
crave now not for lucre
as someone will be the Covid-donor.

When two boys snatched away the chains
of an old woman, she yelled, "Beware!
I'm Corona- infective! " and the youths
threw back the chain on her and sped away.

The teachers who usually abuse the girls
keep distance from them to live long,
get salary till retirement to save their families.

The cops who rape the women in stations
dare not look at their faces now
and send them back safe with advice.

The politicians are living in nightmare
as they are scared by the saying,
"God waits long and kills but Covid at once".

Corona has brought the people back to the track
of moral and helping ways of living
and see, how they feed the animals in hunger.

But we are sad to look at the faces of the workers
who have lost jobs and perks, struggle to pay the fees
for their children in schools and shed tears in silence!
